School-Wide Behavior Plan

Woodward’s mission is, “You must reach them before you teach them.” All our students participate in our evidence based, school-wide behavior plan to help students develop resilience by encouraging skill-building in the areas of empathy, engagement, self-awareness, and citizenship.

All our students participate in our evidence based, school-wide behavior plan to support growth in students in a multitude of ways. Our unique system helps students develop resilience by encouraging skill-building in the areas of empathy, engagement, self-awareness, and citizenship. Through this, our students are taught and encouraged to utilize expected positive behaviors proactively on a daily basis.

  • Clearly defining and teaching a set of behavioral expectations
  • Positivity
  • Consistently acknowledging and rewarding appropriate behavior
  • Constructively addressing problematic behavior
  • Effectively using behavioral data to assess progress

Our school wide positive behavior interventions and supports (SWPBIS) emphasizes and highlights Woodward’s mission,

“You must reach them before you can teach them.”
