NOTICE TO BUS COMPANIES: No child is to be let off a morning bus before 8:40a.m. and without a staff escort.

NOTICE OF CONFIDENTIALITY AND ACCESSIBILITY: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (also known as P.L. 93-380 and the Buckley Amendment) was passed in 1974 with the final regulations effective in 1976. It stipulates that federal funds may be withdrawn from any educational agency or institution that: (1) fails to provide parents access to their child’Äôs educational records, or (2) disseminates such information (with some exceptions) to third parties without parental permission. Parents must also be given a hearing if they wish to challenge the contents of their child’Äôs records. Upon reaching eighteen, students may exercise the rights guaranteed to parents under this law. Further legislative protection pertaining to confidentiality and accessibility of students record is outlined under the Education for all Handicapped Children Act of 1975 (also known as P.L. 94-142 and amended in 1989, P.L. 99-457).

In keeping with above mandated laws, a list of staff members and outside agencies who have access to the educational records on individual children, is available upon request in main office.
